Direct to Garment / DTG

Direct-To-Garment (DTG) printing is the process of printing directly onto textiles using a specialised inkjet printer.

  • The finished print feels soft and breathable, as the ink bonds to the fibres of the garment. The fibres of the garment are sometimes visible through the ink depending on the ink colour and garment colour.
  • DTG printing is suited for one-off custom garments, smaller runs and for full-colour designs.
  • Fabric must be at least 70% cotton.
  • There is no minimum order requirement, so you can print just one item.
  • There are no set up fees.
  • This is a CMYK print process, so colours are approximate only. If you require a specific spot colour, please ask for a screenprinting quote.

Direct to Film Transfers / DTF

Direct-To-Film (DTF) printing is the process of printing onto a specialised film and then transferring to the garment with a heat press.

  • The finished print feels thicker than DTG but is not breathable.
  • DTF printing is not suitable for fine detail
  • This is suited for one-off custom garments, smaller runs or for full-colour designs.
  • Can be applied to cotton or synthetic fabrics, and to sleeves.
  • There is no minimum order requirement, so you can print just one item
  • There are no set up fees
  • This is a CMYK print process, so colours are approximate only. If you require a specific spot colour, please ask for a screenprinting quote.

Screen Printing

Also known as silk screen printing, this print method uses a fine mesh as a stencil to push ink through. This is best suited for larger runs, and projects where exact colour matching is required.

We automatically quote for screenprinting when this is the best option. The price depends on the number of colours in the design, the size of the design and the quantity ordered.

  • The finished print is thicker and more plastic feeling than DTG.
  • Vector files are required.
  • A minimum of ten units of the same design is required for screenprinting.
  • There are set up fees per colour
  • Screenprinting takes 2-4 weeks.
  • We recommend screenprinting for trade uniforms and for heavily worn and washed garments.

Please request a quote if you would like a quote for screenprinting.
